Know the different types of Ovens


It is an instrument that generates heat and keeps it in a watertight compartment. It is used for cooking, heating, drying. The energy used to power the furnace can be obtained directly by burning wood, gas, etc., by solar radiation or indirectly using electricity. Although all have the same principle of operation; the heat is distributed evenly throughout the interior surface and it is advisable to preheat just before using it.

Microwave oven: Used mostly to heat food. Its operation is through a generation of electromagnetic waves at a microwave frequency of approximately 2.45 GHz.

  • Mainly used to reheat, melt.
  • The cooking process is neutral. It is only recommended in very specific cases.
  • Water, fats and other substances present in food absorb microwave energy in a process called dielectric heating.
A very common mistake is to believe that this Electric Oven cook food "from the inside out." In most cases, with uniformly structured and homogeneous foods, microwaves are absorbed into the outer layers in a way somewhat similar to the heat of other methods. The microwave penetration depth depends on the composition of the food and the frequency, with the lowest microwave frequencies (longer wavelengths) being the most penetrating.

Convection ovens: It is a more expensive oven than the others, in addition to requiring more space than traditional ovens. The important thing that makes these ovens better is the fact that they manage to create a uniform temperature, within themselves. Convection Oven has internal fans that make the temperature the same, in every corner of the oven. Thanks to this system, less cooking time is required in food.
Steam ovens: The steam oven is gaining adherents and more and more are seen in the kitchens. A special feature is healthy cooking. Cooking is done homogeneously
Bakery ovens: Bakery Oven is specially created for the preparation of cakes, biscuits, cookies, etc. Three types are the most used: modular, rotary and convection.
